Bed & Breakfast at Smithers Restorative Hideaway

My husband Brian and I have lived on our rural Smithers property for 19 years. We are both creative and hardworking, and our undeveloped property was a blank palette we have worked to make our own.

We’ve developed our property to reflect all the things we love: good food, outdoor living, health, wellness and a dose of relaxation. Brick and iron accents throughout our home and garden reflect an old world atmosphere that lends itself to a restorative stay.

Starting a bed and breakfast is something we’ve been working on for a number of years. We love meeting and networking with people and enjoy learning through the experiences of others.

Our property offers numerous amenities, including two large patio areas – one of which is covered, allowing you to enjoy the outdoors even in the rain – a wood-fired oven, fire pit area for sitting around the open fire roasting marshmallows and making smores, hot tub, full gym, outdoor sauna and outdoor labyrinth. There are many spots where you can find a comfortable seat to relax in, read a book or journal the details of your trip. For those guests comfortable with rustic trails through the forest, our property is a short 15-minute walk from the beautiful Bulkley River (or 30 minutes via the paved road).

We have two rooms available in our home, each with a queen-sized bed, as well as a rustic cabin nestled in the trees that features one double bed and one queen-sized hide-a-bed. The guest rooms and cabin each rent for $99 per night. All bookings made through Airbnb site.  See link at the top and bottom of this page. All accommodations include the option of a hot or cold breakfast prepared from fresh local ingredients.

For guests looking to enhance their visit, we are pleased to offer additional services.

Yoga classes, facilitated labyrinth walks and personal fitness training are all available.

Smithers is a wonderful small town with a vibrant character Main Street. Each year, it attracts visitors from around the globe who love fishing, hiking, skiing and other outdoors activities. We encourage you to visit some of our favourite local businesses, such as Bugwood Bean, Heartstrings, Mainerz, Kitchen Works and Local Supply Co. SmithersEvents.com has a full listing of upcoming community events.

Brian and I are very pleased to share our space with you and want to ensure you have an enjoyable stay. Please let us know if you have any questions. We are very active in our community, so if we don’t have the answer, we know someone who does!

We look forward to seeing you at our Smithers Restorative Hideaway.
